Energy Club:Kolkata
About the Energy-Club, Kolkata:
The proposal for an effective coordination committee or a forum (a group of people concerned with energy) having the objective of the implementing energy conservation methodologies in real life situations was made of the International Training program held during August and September 2000 at IISWBM, Kolkata.
This club, called the 'Energy Club', is trying in its own to impart a momentum to the process of Energy Management and Energy Awareness Programme in our country specially where energy efficiency measures have not been taken seriously. It was decided that discussions by Energy Club members will be held on the third Friday in the months of January, April, July and October of each year.
The proposal for conducting a National Seminar on 'India's Energy Scenario-Present Status and Future Prospects' during September 21st-22nd, 2001 at IISWBM, Kolkata, was taken jointly by all Energy-Club members, at the second Energy Club meeting.
Activities of the Energy Club:
Share efficient energy management practices with other members through personal communications in general and quarterly meetings in particular.
Organize seminars for awareness generation among the general public in their day to day lives and in their respective parent organizations.
Promote energy conservation projects and proposals for future implementation.
Provide opportunities to new would-be energy managers for practising their ideas and techniques to fetch improvements.
Organize collaborative programs jointly with various organizations from India and abroad viz. ESCAP, USAID, UNEP etc. for promoting mass awareness.
